With so much new in one sentence, it’s only natural to reflect on what we want to change to gain a new perspective. After all, there’s always room for improvement. Maybe it’s breaking a bad habit, planning more effectively, or setting better boundaries. Whatever it is—if nothing changes, nothing will change.
Budgets have been submitted, strategies are in place, and motivation is high for the new financial year. But how do we sustain this momentum? How do we ensure that our strategies take shape and our budgets align—or even exceed—expectations? No one wants to reach mid-year feeling burned out, frustrated, and overwhelmed.
Shift Your Mindset
First, have an honest chat with yourself. Here’s the hard truth: negative thinking is a habit—a bad one. The good news? It can be broken and replaced with a positive mindset. Make it a practice to find the silver lining in any situation. A fresh perspective fuels creativity and helps you approach challenges differently. And the best part? Positivity has a ripple effect—emotionally, productively, and personally. Try it!
Set Goals & Celebrate Wins
Staying on track requires realistic goals and a solid plan. Break big goals into smaller milestones and celebrate each achievement along the way. Regularly reflect on your progress and share wins with your team. Staying connected with people who support and inspire you makes all the difference.
Be Intentional
Success doesn’t just happen—it requires effort, consistency, and intention. You can’t expect rewards, growth, or even a positive mindset without putting in the work. Remember, opportunities don’t come knocking; you are your own champion.
So, how intentional are you?

New Age is currently managing a shutdown at Sasol, where we have been testing Mechanical Fitters. Steinmuller remains busy, and we have already employed 12 Pipe Fitters, with more opportunities on the horizon.
There will be no annual Sasol shutdown at Sasol Secunda this year, which presents a challenge. However, we are on the verge of signing contracts with three new maintenance clients, paving the way for future growth.
We’ve had a great start to the year with our Friday “Meat”ings! On 7 February, we celebrated Valentine’s Day with a twist — sharing what we love and appreciate about our colleagues, topped off with a delicious hot dog braai.
Then, on 7 March, we shared a slice of fun for Employee Appreciation Day, enjoying some well-deserved pizza together. Thank you to everyone who joined in — these moments are a great reminder of the value of connecting and celebrating as a team. Here’s to many more Friday “Meat”ings to come!
